Contribution

Across the American Midwest, the rapid expansion of critical energy infrastructure—ranging from utility-scale solar generation fields and advanced natural gas facilities to high-voltage transmission interconnects—has become a cornerstone of regional development. Driven largely by the massive power demands of modern data centers, these multi-million-dollar energy projects require rigorous, highly coordinated public review processes. Represented extensively by legal partners such as Sands Decker, these initiatives involve navigating complex local zoning boards, public town halls, land rights clearance, and strict environmental compliance. Because utility-scale energy installations can draw public scrutiny over visual and ecological impacts, developers must provide transparent, highly accurate spatial modeling and aesthetic mitigation strategies to secure approvals.

Working in close coordination with development teams and legal counsel, I provided comprehensive site planning, environmental impact assessments, and 3D visual simulation studies for key Midwest energy projects—including Fairfield County Solar and Chestnut Run Energy in Ohio, and Paxson Solar and Bundle Flower Solar in Illinois. My deliverables bridged technical engineering data and public-facing clarity, producing contextual photo-simulations, dimensioned scale-reference graphics, and detailed landscape-buffer presentation studies. By accurately modeling how proposed photovoltaic arrays, substations, and transmission lines would sit within their surrounding rural topography and vegetation, I equipped legal teams and developers with the visual evidence needed to successfully navigate public hearings, land rights clearances, and zoning approvals.
